Kitty Stars of the Week for May 15 - 21, 2005
Our submitter writes,
"These two fuzzballs were born on St. Patrick's Day, 2003, are as mischievous
as a couple of leprechauns. They joined our household at age 6 weeks. They
live with their human parents Tim and Darcy, and human uncle John, in
Marshall, Minnesota."
"Jasmine is the baby of the two. She was the
calmest of all the kittens (we had three litters to choose from.) She was a
sick baby, we would soon learn, and my mother, who worked for a veternarian
at the time, was able to help us get her nursed back to health. Once she
felt better, she had no problem keeping up with her 'bigger' sister, Jasper.
Jasmine is a super frisky, often very needy, two year old. She enjoys sitting
in one of her window beds and watching the world go by. She also practices
the art of pouncing on dozens of yarn pom-poms that can be found around the
house, and can kick the butt of any of the wild animals that live in her toy
basket, which contains puppies, several mice, and a wild alligator.
"We decided to contrast Jasmine with one of the more active kittens. Jasper
was a grey blur, playing with her siblings and cousins, running amok,
jumping on or IN anything in front of her. She has done a 180 degree turn,
and has become a very mellow, easy-going kitty. She will generally watch as
Jasmine braves new or strange items in the house, following only once safety
has been confirmed. She is best friends with her human uncle John; she will
purr almost exclusively for him. She loves grooming herself and her sister,
although the loving grooming often turns into playful batting, which leads
to eight little legs sprinting about the house. They constantly provide
their humans with something to laugh at, smile about, and occasionally scold
them for. Our house would be very empty without them."
