Kitty Star of the Week for February 5 - 11, 2006
Chester is the star this week, and he has a story that started out sad at first, but
has a happy ending. A couple of little boys
found Chester as a stray with a severe eye problem and took him
to the vet, Dr. Sharman, in town. Chester had to have his eye removed. Then just a short
time later, the same problem repeated itself in his other eye -- it swelled to 3 times
its normal size and became very painful. The problem did not respond to treatment.

Dr. Sharman decided the second eye had to be removed as well, and he was concerned about
how Chester would adapt. He also got attached to Chester and decided to keep him. And,
fortunately Chester has adapted extremely well to being blind.
Chester is doing well
Chester is a
wonderful, sweet kitty that is loving and so friendly to everybody that comes in the
office. He gets around the office just fine and seems very happy, even without his eyes,
at least he is not in any pain anymore. He seems to really know that human beings
helped him out and he is so grateful. A friend of Chester's says,
"He is so into being a personality and the center of attention. I think he really knows
who I am -- by scent of course. He seems to know when I show up. He sleeps in a box
under the receptionists desk and is quite cozy there."
