Kitty Star of the Week for August 13 - 19, 2000.
Simba is a three-and-a-half-year-old cat who lives
with his person -mom, -dad, -sisters, and a canine sister named Molly,
whom Simba gets along with really well. They all live in Oklahoma
City.
Simba is a big kitty -- 32 inches long from tip-of-nose to
tip-of-tail and 14 pounds. Between that and the fact that Simba is
orange means that he doesn't scare easily. He is half-scared of the
vacuum cleaner, but that's about it as far as "normal" things go.
But Simba thought the tornado that they had in May of 1999 was very
scary. He and one of his person-sisters had to go into the closet
with blankets and pillows over them! Fortunately, no one was hurt
and only a little damage was done to their home.
One of Simba's favorite things to do is snooze on the bed right after
the sheets have been washed. He also likes to steal
people's seats on the furniture -- when someone gets up, Simba moves
in, and no one has the heart to make him leave. Simba also enjoys
doing a little bird watching. He's an indoor cat, but finds the
activities going on outside very interesting.
Simba has one unusual trait -- he will allow himself
to be bathed without kicking up a big fuss. In the tub -- with water.
