Kitty Stars of the Week for December 17 - 23, 2000.
This week meet Zeppo and Groucho. Their parents started the "Marx brothers" kitties
when, in 1983, they "adopted" Harpo and Chicho from a local breeder.
Harpo (a lilac point) and Chico (a seal point) lived happily with their humans
for 15 - 16 years. Today, Zeppo (the lilac
point) and Groucho (the seal point) are carrying on their tradition.
Both boys like Ekanuba with a touch of canned food
sprinkled
on top. Both are extremely vocal about eating, and the timeliness of it.
Both are lap cats (when they are not terrorizing the house). They can go
from chasing and wrestling with each another to a lap nap in a matter of seconds.
Favorite toys include a white ribbon which is chased relentlessly and a blue
puff-ball kind of thing attached to an elastic cord. Zeppo growls when he has control of
it and is approached by his brother.
Although their humans' hands and ankles look like they have
7 week old kittens, Groucho and Zeppo
both are very good natured and lovable cats.
Their breeder has expressed interest in showing Zeppo in cat
shows when he gets a little older and has asked if his people would like to participate.
They are not sure
about showing him at the moment. They're just very happy with their new
kit-lets.
