Kitty Star of the Week for March 25 - 31, 2001.
This week our featured cat is Purry. Purry's human writes:
"When I was 12 (1992), my mom took me to the
humane society to pick out a cat. I had been looking through cat
books for months, deciding what breed I wanted, not understanding
that this wouldn't really come up in picking a cat from the pound.
When we first got there I saw an orange striped kitty, but when I
picked it up it seemed so distressed, so I picked up a white kitty
with gray spots. He was so loving and happy to be held. He purred
louder than any cat I had ever heard, which sold me on him, and I
decided to name him Purry (being 12, and having a grandfather named
Perry, this seemed clever!)."
Purry was 6 months old when he was adopted.
Since then he's been through many mishaps, including getting his
paw stung by a wasp, getting hit by a car, and fighting an opossum.
Amazingly he's survived it all! He's always been a very affectionate
and non-demanding friend, and never minded if his person cried on
him a little. He would even lick the tears off of his human's face.
