Kitty Star of the Week for May 13 - 19, 2001.
This week our star is Echelle, a mixed breed "alley cat" who lives in
El Cerrito, California. Her favorite activity is "flesh-ripping"
(or, in other words, batting at a hot pink feather on a string). Her
favorite food is Kibbles!!! (She prefers to eat with human company.)
Echelle was a stray adpoted five or six years ago in Pasadena, CA. Her family
doesn't know how old she is, but she's almost certainly on the far side of
ten years by now. She is a friendly cat who likes to hang out with her
humans. She will often sleep right next to her mommy's head at naptime.
Nicknames for Echelle include Shell-Comma-E, Comma Kitty, Vicious
Fleshripping Fiend, Little Ball of Cat, Fluff Monster, Fluffus Maximus,
Thing, Stretchy Kitty. The name Echelle is a reference to astronomical
instrumentation used by her daddy in graduate school-- which is nothing
compared to her late sister, whose full name was a quantum mechanical
expression.
