- The Balinese cat originated in the 1950s in the
United States.
- They are primarily descended from longhaired Siamese, and retain
the long lines and points of the Siamese.
- Balinese are medium sized, lithe, and graceful.
- They weigh between 6 and 11 pounds.
- Their coat is medium-long, fine and silky, and lies flat.
- Traditional Balinese come in four point colors -- seal, chocolate,
blue, and lilac.
- The head is long and wedge-shaped, with elegant lines.
- The ears are large and wide at the base.
- The eyes are widely spaced and "Oriental" in their shape.
- The tail is long and plumed.
- They are talkative, social, inquisitive cats.
- Balinese need mental and physical stimulation.
